We invite you to a dissemination event sharing research on medicines optimisation and deprescribing in older people, with a focus on personalised, proactive, and preventative care. Please see flyer attached, and click here to register.
Drawing on a programme of
NIHR-funded research, the event will explore the challenge of overprescribing
and polypharmacy in later life, its impact on patients, carers, the NHS, and
health inequalities, and the evidence for what works in practice. This includes
multidisciplinary approaches to structured medication reviews, the role of
trust and shared decision-making, and the potential contribution of social
prescribing and community-based support.
The event is open to patients
and carers, healthcare and social care professionals, community and voluntary
sector organisations, policymakers, commissioners, and researchers. No
specialist knowledge is required.
Through short presentations
and discussion, we aim to reflect on what needs to happen next to embed safe,
person-centred medicines optimisation in routine care and to support healthier
ageing across diverse communities. We would be delighted for you to join the
conversation and share your perspective.
This event is invitation only and spaces are limited so please register to attend.
