Professor Joht Chandan

Clinical Professor of Public Health at the University of Birmingham, Professor Chandan is a leading expert in health inequalities and violence prevention. His research has shaped national and global policy, particularly through his work with the NIHR Global Health Research Group on Violence Against Women and Children and the Lancet Commission on Violence Against Women and Children. His talk will focus on understanding the health impacts of violence, abuse and trauma.

Dr Orlanda Harvey

Senior Lecturer in Social Work at Bournemouth University, Dr Harvey brings a wealth of experience in domestic violence and abuse, leadership, and reflective practice. She co-facilitates support groups for women affected by intimate partner violence and contributes to European research projects focused on perpetrator change and professional capacity-building.

Dr Louise Oliver

Senior Lecturer in Social Work at Bournemouth University, Dr Oliver’s research centres on violence against women and girls, with a particular focus on domestic abuse, child-to-parent violence, and the impact of secrecy within families. She is passionate about developing innovative teaching tools and critical reflection in social work education.
